Pazargik is located 205 meters above sea level along the banks of the Maritsa river. It is located 114 km southeast of Sofia and 36 km west of Plovdiv, 20 km north of Cave and 43 miles south of Panaghiuriste. The city is the regional center of town and
district of the same name.
It was founded five centuries ago, between 1485 and 1934 was called Tatar - Pazargik. Tartars were founders of, moved here during the Sultan Bayezid, who gave her name. From a marketing center gradually turned into an important economic and administrative center.
