Pazargik is located 205 meters above sea level along the banks of the Maritsa river. It is located 114 km southeast of Sofia and 36 km west of Plovdiv, 20 km north of Cave and 43 miles south of Panaghiuriste. The city is the regional center of town and district of the same name.
