Varna is a city in eastern Bulgaria, situated on the west coast of the Black Sea. It is an important seaport and resort.
Varna is called the sea capital of Bulgaria, because Bulgaria is the largest coastal city. Varna has also long been the Bulgarian Navy. Currently, there is a Naval Museum with a museum ship (vessel torpedo Draski).
In the sixth century BC in this place, Greek settlers founded Polis Odessa. In 1444, King Ladislaus III of Poland was defeated with his army of crusaders by the Turks at the Battle of Varna. Ladislas III died, receiving over-Varnensis name.
