Bozhentsi - a beautiful village in the district of Gabrovo, is one of the most beautiful architectural reserve in Bulgaria. It is located 15 km east of Gabrovo and impresses with its well preserved houses and public buildings of the Bulgarian Renaissance. According to ancient legend, the village was founded by a noble from Tarnovo named Bozhana, who settled in the city after her husband died in the capital Tarnovo's conquest by the Ottoman Turks. From there came the village name.
