Kostenkovtsi Village is located in the central-northern Bulgaria. Part of Gabrovo district. It is located in a small valley between the foot of the Stara Planina and just 14 km north-east from Gabrovo. The village is situated at an altitude of 500-699 m above sea level.
The slope, which is located the village is completely oriented towards the mountain. Kostenkovci windows of houses in the village offers a spectacular panoramic view towards the Balkans. The village is very small, but beautiful houses decorated with wooden and iron decorations retains the old style.
There are several localities in Bulgaria, big and small, that history has endowed them with a prosperous past. These settlements are particularly proud of their heroes, leaders and revolutionaries, they discovered the true legends and the historical significance. The area has always been colonized by pure Bulgarian population. One of the purest dialects of Bulgarian, which have been preserved through centuries, is spoken here.

You can also take a stroll through the ruins of Fortress Strajevata, take a sip of water from the old stone fountain in the Czarina Joanna, and to make a visit to Stony Springs, located at the foot of the village Chomatsite.
