Resort-town of Sozopol is situated on a rocky peninsula with high cliff, the oldest human settlement on the Bulgarian seaside - Pontic Apollonia.

It is said that precisely in Sozopol ancient Greek sculptor created the statue of Apollo Kallatis (13 meters high) that was later transported to Rome.
