Resort-town of Sozopol is situated on a rocky peninsula with high cliff, the oldest human settlement on the Bulgarian seaside - Pontic Apollonia.

It is said that precisely in Sozopol ancient Greek sculptor created the statue of Apollo Kallatis (13 meters high) that was later transported to Rome. Sozopol is one of the few known resorts, located south of the town of Burgas (34 km) and is also one of the most popular Bulgarian resorts among tourists. Emblem resort - the anchor.
